The goal of SpamMeltdown.com is to provide a source of inspiration to the designers of HTML emails. And when I say HTML emails I mean the opt in corporate emails people want to receive. In no way shape or form does this include the true spam floating around out there. You won't find articles on pharmaceuticals or other "enhancing" products. To say the least I detest spam in its true form. I simply refer to spam on this site in a humorous way.

After observing many thousands of HTML emails through the creation of this site my respect and interest in the design of these emails has been greatly elevated. There are some pretty amazing designs showing up in peoples inboxes. What really blows me away is that the creators of these emails have a lot more potential problems then the typical web developer who is targeting a comparably small number of browsers. The HTML email designer has to consider dozens of different mail clients which are far more difficult to test for.

Who are you? 

Spam Meltdown is part of the Meltdown network of sites. Currently the other primary site is DesignMeltdown.com, but I run several design oriented sites and services. Check out Daily Slurp, Resolio, MyDesignMeltdown, and the mini site for my book The Web Designers Idea Book. I (Patrick McNeil) am the creator of all this madness and I am generally speaking a lover of design and technology. I have been writing Design Meltdown for several years. I also write for .Net magazine (Practical Web Design in the US). And yeah, I wrote a book on web design to. Recently I was also lucky enough to speak at the Future of Web Design conference. To say the least I love design and am thoroughly passionate about inspiration. And yeah I am a really busy guy. 

Blog Engine

Spam Meltdown runs on the free .net blog engine cleverly called BlogEngine.net. Finally a vialble .net alternative to WordPress. I am not against WordPress or PHP, I just live in the .net world so it is nice to have a good option.
