Ok, so maybe these sales aren't super special. But I do know the preacher at my church would love the triple s so I couldn't resist. But seriously (well as serious as I can be anyhow), could their be a more relevant usage of HTML email blasts then sales? Users sign up for various lists to be notified of stuff they want to know about regarding the brand. Think about it, if your a fan of a brand and they send you info about a sale you are most likely going to be rather tempted by this.
There is one thing that sticks out to me that I hadn't previously considered. Notice the heavy usage of the color red in this section? The reasons behind this are rather clear. Red is a bold powerful color that demands attention and declares authority. Using red to announce a sale just means the message will be that much bolder. This is actually something I have talked about a fair amount over on Design Meltdown.
